The future of global cooperation is circular
By Jonathan Glennie for the Kapuscinski Development Lecture series
We are pleased to publish a lecture ‘The Future of Global Cooperation is Circular’ by Global Nation Co-Founder Jonathan Glennie as part of the Kapuscinski Development Lectures.
These Lectures, in honour of Ryszard Kapuscinski, are organized by the European Commission, the United Nations Development Programme and a network of partner universities and think tanks in order to contribute to debate and the formulation of European development policy.
Glennie sets out how current development thinking is hemmed in by conceptual constraints, post-colonial paradigms and outdated thinking, explaining how this impacts our ability to achieve progress. He then shows how we must evolve our understanding of international cooperation and the institutions and processes that facilitate it to both avoid the risks we face as humanity and take advantage of the opportunities available to us.
As Global Nation works more on building circular cooperation thinking and shifting policy and practice in this direction, we are interested in speaking to partners who would like to be involved in promoting this agenda. You can get in touch via hello@globalnation.world.
You can watch the original lecture, recorded and published on the Kapuscinski Development Lectures website in November 2023.
